Samsung’s latest DeX dock allows the Galaxy S9 to be used as a trackpad, a feature that Huawei already supported in its own PC mode and Microsoft in its Continuum before that. Android P may bring official support for this and even add the option of using the phone as a keyboard. A patch for this was committed back in December 2016, but has been disabled. Using a phone as a trackpad is pretty okay, though the typing experience won’t be great. Still, simplifying the controls to something like joystick sounds nice – e.g. an extra controller for your console. Alternatively, it could be a standard way to control “smart” appliances over Bluetooth – press any key to do the laundry.

In the first weeks of the new year,  Meizu introduced the long-awaited M6s . The phone came with a fingerprint scanner on the side, a software home button called Super mBack and unique Exynos 7872 chipset. The midranger was announced with 3 GB RAM and 32 or 64 GB storage, but according to a new TENAA listing, Meizu will relaunch the phone in new versions with 4 GB and 6 GB RAM. The upgraded Meizu M6s will keep all the other specs the same - a single 16 MP camera with f/2.0 lens on the back and an 8 MP sensor on the front, a 5.7" display with tall ratio and HD+ resolution and a 3,000 mAh battery. The power cell is charged through a micro USB, but at least there is 18W fast charging. Pricing is yet to be announced, but sources suggest it will start from CNY1,399 ($220/€180) for the 4 GB variant. For comparison, the 3 GB + 64 GB option costs CNY1,199 ($186/€152), while the cheaper version with 32 GB is just CNY999 ($155/€126).

Xiaomi has scheduled a launch on March 27 for the Mi Mix 2s. Confirmed specs include only Snapdragon 845, as the company  revealed in an official poster . According to the latest live image, the phone might also have an under-display fingerprint scanner. The image, if real, suggests the finger should be positioned in the lower central part of the screen. It might also be just a request for the user to place his finger on the proper scanner on the back, as it does on the stock Android lock screen. At this point, we are just speculating and truth will be unveiled in the end of March. The Mi Mix 2s is also rumored to come with 6.01” OLED screen and an IMX363 camera sensor, currently seen in the latest Zenfone 5 flagships.
